The James M. Johnston Center for Undergraduate Excellence welcomes the opportunity to work with departments and other academic units to create programming designed to enhance the intellectual climate for undergraduates at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Preference is given to projects that join the interests of several units, serve broad cross-sections of the campus, reach across disciplinary boundaries, and provide for innovative teaching and learning experiences. Projects may be funded by the Johnston Center Director's Fund, the Grants for Teaching with New Technology Program, the Underhill Grant Program, and the Hamilton Family Fellowship in Teaching with New Technology. If you’d like to propose an idea for funding, please contact the Center’s Executive Director, Randi Davenport ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
